I once made an AI love story for a 48 Hour Film Project. My goal was to one-man-band and I had all these ideas for action or thriller movies, but then I pulled the genre 'romance' from a hat and here we go:
It released two weeks before the trailer for Her dropped.
I ended up loving Her, and there was a lot of stuff in it that I wanted to do with To Program a Romance. However I think there's still a lot of room to explore this concept, and Silicon-humanist Spike Jonze can't be the final say in it.
Holy cow I cannot believe you released this just before Her - that is some crazy serendipitous zeitgeist right there. I reallly enjoyed this! I felt gut punched when she said she understood rejection - for being a short it was incredibly effective. ha and who knew how different you could look between beard/hairstyles. Thank you for sharing. And yea, I wonder why there hasn't been more tackling of this topic - or maybe there has annd i just don't know about it. Thanks for reading!
Excellent. Hilarious. A bit weird. Basically The Wednesday Audio in written form
Ah so accurate haha thanks!
Definitely a great read. The "in case he hears you" bit reminded me of a film, called Colossus, 1970.
Thanks so much, and that movie looks damn good. I can't find a place to stream but may just have to add the dvd to our library.
'Deep in England lived a thoughtful Ginger who built a podcast in his closet.'
I'm already laughing here. Great stuff.
Thanks, Tom!
This was hysterical and so, so creative. I love that you are trying out fiction! More please!!
Thank you! It wore me out - like major fiction hangover, but I'm going to keep trying more!
