Postscript to last post
As we piled into the car, Elisabeth and I immediately began telling Megadoug about the churro popcorn. Elisabeth was emphatic that it was the “best popcorn I’ve ever had!” And then she asked me if I agreed, and I did! Then she relayed a sweet moment we’d shared earlier. She looked toward the front seat and said, “I looked at Trilety during the movie because I was so excited about the popcorn, and she looked at me and just widely mouthed I KNOW. I didn’t even have to say anything, she understood my excitement.” Then we nearly howled with laughter and memories of the popcorn. It was one of those salient moments where you are completely aligned with another human, not just in the moment that I mouthed “i know,” but in the retelling, as if our cells hummed with holiday synchronicity. And that was meant to be the main point of the story. So consider this P.S. a meaningful footnote.
